Journal 6- Software Review

INSPIRATION 8

1. I was surprised at how user friendly the software, Inspiration 8 program was. I had no idea that Inspiration 8 was available to draw out ideas and it is a very easy way to read them. I'm sure that if I would have been introduced to this software earlier in my CSUSM coursework I would have been able to make my student life much easier and organized by using Inspiration.

2. Atomic Learning was really helpful for me, while I tried to map out the ISTE NETS on Inspiration. I know that if I had to I could figure out how to use the software on my own. But I figured if the help was there might as well use it.

3. As a future teacher I see myself using the Inspiration software. I could use it for drawing out stories that we read in the classroom, Math, Words (such as Vocabulary) etc. I believe that in the elementary school years students are very visual learners and I feel that by applying colors and pictures into an Inspiration map, I will be able to retain the students attention longer.

iMOVIE

1. Prior to this class I had never used iMovie and I didn't think I could ever do it. I thought that it would be too complicated because I had used Movie Maker and I imagined it was the along the same difficultness. However, I discovered that iMovie was so much fun and user friendly at the same time.

2. I didn’t use Atomic Learning , while creating my first iMovie. My reasons for not using it were because my professor introduced the tools that we would be using. I also took notes and went back to my notes as needed. I also had a few peers help me. If the situation was different for example if I would have done my first iMovie at home with nobody to help my around me, then I’m sure that Atomic Learning would have been my best friend.

3. I will use iMovie in my future classroom. I think that it’s a great way to present many different subjects. Also, I’m sure that if I were to do a lesson where I had the students be part of the iMovie they would definitely provide their undivided attention and be more willing to learn.
